Prepare Your Tablet
For the most accurate results:
✓ Use a well-lit area
✓ Make sure the client is clearly visible
✓ Keep the area behind the client clear
Avoid:
✗ Other people in the frame
✗ Posters or photos of people
✗ Mirrors or reflective surfaces
✗ Direct sunlight pointed at the camera
✗ Outdoor screenings are supported, just avoid pointing the tablet directly into the sun.
Set Up Your Environment
Clothing
✓ Wear fitted athletic clothing when possible
✓ Tuck in loose shirts
✓ Avoid baggy clothing
Hair
✓ Pull long hair back
✓ Keep hair off the shoulders
Contrast - Make sure the client stands out from the background
✗ Avoid dark clothing on dark floors
✗ Avoid clothing that blends into the surroundings
Prepare Your Client
Hold the tablet in portrait orientation with the camera at the top
Turn on Rotation Lock to prevent the screen from flipping mid-screening
Follow the on-screen guides
Kinotek will display:
A silhouette for client positioning
A green line showing the correct tablet height
Depending on the movement, you may need to hold the tablet at waist or shoulder height.
Keep the tablet vertical
The tablet should remain perpendicular to the ground. Look for the circle on the right side of screen. When you see the record button, it indicates the tablet is level and positioned correctly.
Position the Tablet
Record each movement separately. Do not combine multiple movements into a single recording.
Follow the on-screen prompts
Use the silhouette and positioning guides to confirm setup before recording.
For left and right side movements, reposition the client and capture each side separately.
Conduct the Assessment
Once processing is complete, you'll receive:
✓ Key Findings Summary
✓ Movement Health Report
✓ ROM Summary
✓ Exercise Programming
Review your results
If a screen doesn't look right, check:

Tablet is at the correct height and level
Client is fully visible
No people, mirrors, or posters are in frame
Lighting is adequate
Hair is pulled back
Clothing is fitted and visible against the background
Camera and motion permissions are enabled
